Is there an age limit for playdate mini sessions?

Playdate mini-sessions are for kids only. If we are photographing an infant or toddler, we include mom or dad. But the baby will receive our full focus.

What is a playdate mini session?

A playdate mini-session is a group get-together, you and your nearest and dearest have your very own private block of playdate mini-portrait sessions. Your group chooses the exact date and location. Each mini-session is twenty minutes in length per child. Two siblings may share one spot. If you have more than two children, we recommend booking two spots. A minimum of four paid spots is required to book.

You may purchase the entire set of high-resolution digital negatives from your shoot. The files are for your personal use; you may use these files to make prints and holiday cards. You may post them online. The images may not be sold for commercial use. All portrait sessions include a complete set of low-resolution watermarked files that are sized for email and may be shared with friends and family.

Can I get the digital negatives?

Your proofs will be posted for online viewing one week after your session. Check our blog after your shoot for a sneak peek of your photos.

When will I get to see my photos?

How many photos do you take?

You will receive about 100 images after the family portrait sessions. We make sure that you have plenty of options from which to choose.

Bright colors, simple patterns, and textured fabrics work best. Colorful knit hats and diaper covers are all you need for newborns. Avoid logos and intricate patterns to keep the focus on you and your children. There will be time for outfit changes, so be sure to have several choices on hand.

What should we wear?

Is there a discount for booking multiple sessions?

Yes, there is a discount. Please visit our investment page to learn more about session packages. Contact us for a detailed price list.

How far in advance should I book my session?

Our weekends fill up fast. Be sure to contact us immediately to secure a weekend session. We recommend booking no later than two weeks in advance for a weekday session.

When should I book a newborn session?

The best time to book your session is the second trimester of your pregnancy. Newborn sessions should ideally take place within ten days following the birth. Let us know your estimated due date when you book your session. When your little one makes his or her entrance contact us as soon as possible after the birth, and we will finalize the date of your session.

The best spot for your session is near your home, where you and your children are relaxed and comfortable. We photograph newborns and infants indoors. A room with big windows and natural light works best. Your yard or a nearby park will work well for older children. There are also wonderful locations in the DC/Baltimore area, and we will work with you to pick the best locale.

Where is the best location for our session?

How long will our session last?

Our sessions last one to two hours. We are sensitive to newborn and infants and take plenty of breaks for feedings and diaper changes. On the other hand, older children can have a blast taking photos; as long as your children are enjoying yourselves, we will keep shooting.

What can we expect at the shoot?

You can expect to play, jump and giggle. Just don't expect to sit still! Our sessions spotlight your familys personality. Thats what makes documentary photography our passion. Our photos are fresh, fun, and candid. We use photography to document the real moments of your life.
